Giving to EGL

Volunteer Abroad (VA) gives EGL students a chance to spend two weeks in a foreign country working on a service project and experiencing the foreign culture. Not only do students get to help a region in need with a relevant service project, but they also get to bond with a group of EGL students and gain a great deal of leadership experience. After going on a VA trip, many students have a new sense of appreciation for what they have back in Ann Arbor. Unfortunately the projects do cause a significant financial burden for students and in the past some students have not been able to go on the trip due to financial constraints. There are two ways you can help!

EGL Alumni Fund for Global Leadership
Supports all students on Volunteer Abroad

By donating to the EGL Alumni Fund for Global Leadership, you are contributing to lowering the cost of the VA experience for all students attending. By lowering the cost for all, it increases the chances for students to be able to afford this opportunity.

Note: Gifts will be automatically designated to the EGL Alumni Fund for Global Leadership. If you would like to designate your gift to other EGL activities, please visit the Giving Instructions page for details

EGL Student Support Fund for Global Experience
Fully supports one student on Volunteer Abroad

The EGL Student Support Fund for Global Experience is an endowed scholarship that will pay for the costs of one student to attend VA. Preference is given to students who have never been on a VA experience and who would not be able to attend the experience without this scholarship.
