Rachel Armstrong-Ceron

College of Engineering Honors Academic Advisor

Rachel has been working with honors students for more than 10 years, and her academic and professional experiences include academic advising, teaching, student organization advising, e-portfolio systems, and residence life. She is passionate about connecting students to opportunities to thrive and grow. Outside of work, Rachel is working on her proficiency in Spanish, and she loves audiobooks and cycling.

Coming from a family full of Michigan engineers, Mike feels right at hoMe! Mike has worked in a variety of capacities in higher education including academic advising, teaching, recruiting, student life programming, and honors programs. Mike enjoys helping students make the most of the resources available to them at Michigan. In his free time, Mike likes reading, tennis, running, playing viola, and board games.

Stacie Edington might spend her free-time training for triathlons, but as Director of the Honors Program, she finds her stride helping Engineering students magnify their full potential.

A native of Nebraska, Nick first came to the University of Michigan to receive his graduate degree in higher education. Since then, he has served students at a range of institutions but his passion has always been working with honors students. Outside of work, Nick enjoys hiking, drawing, cooking, sports, traveling, and listening to metal and rock music.

Engaged Learning Graduate Intern

Holly is a first-year graduate student at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, pursuing her Masters in Public Policy. With a strong background in politics, she is eager to explore the intersection of politics with higher education and deepen her understanding of this critical area of student development. As a recent graduate of the College of LSA, she is also excited to learn about the College of Engineering and bring a cross-campus perspective to her role. In her free time, Holly enjoys Irish dancing with the Léim Irish Dance club on campus.

Honors Faculty Advisor

Jason joined Honors as the faculty advisor in 2019, bringing a legacy of  excellence in undergraduate education.  He is an Arthur F. Thurnau professor, advisor to the Steel Bridge Team, and Director of the U-M Structural Engineering Laboratory.  In his spare time, Jason plays softball.

While being a beer connoisseur might be one Larry’s favorite hobbies, his main focus as an advisor and professor in Industrial and Operations Engineering is making sure the students at the College have access to the absolute best resources out there.

Lauren comes to us with years of higher education experience working with students including success coaching, career services, academic advising, teaching, and student event planning. She is very passionate about helping students find their fit while in college and to prepare them personally and professionally for the world after college. When she is not working, Lauren enjoying spending time with her husband, her dog (Cardi), crafting, board games, and playing volleyball.

Dawn is thrilled to be joining the team after spending the better part of a decade in municipal government. As a recent first-generation college graduate, Dawn discovered her passion for higher education; her long-term goal is to earn a master’s degree and transition into an academic advisor role. As administrative assistant, Dawn is dedicated to ensuring that staff and students feel comfortable, encouraged, and supported. Outside of work, Dawn loves spending time with her family, including her two handsome cats, Leo and Boomer.
